The Chief Ombudsman of Rwanda, Hon. Nirere Madeleine, attended the UNCAC CoSP11 in Doha

The Ombudsman of Rwanda, Hon. Madeleine Nirere, participated in the 11th Session of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) Conference of the States Parties (CoSP11), held in Doha, Qatar, from 15–20 December 2025.

During the conference, the Ombudsman underscored the importance of leveraging emerging technologies as effective tools in preventing and combating corruption, highlighting Rwanda’s forward-looking approach to accountability and good governance.

On the sidelines of CoSP11, Hon. Nirere held bilateral meetings with key counterparts to strengthen international cooperation. She met with H.E. Humaid Obaid Abu Shibs, President of the UAE Accountability Authority, to discuss experience sharing, best practices, and capacity-building initiatives in the fight against corruption. She also met with Hon. Michael Reza, Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission, to discuss ongoing cooperation in anti-corruption efforts.
