Short background story

Rwanda and Qatar enjoy commendable bilateral ties established in May 2017 through the two countries’ Permanent Missions to the United Nations in New York. 

The two nations share economic ties in Civil Aviation. Qatar Airways started its direct flights to Rwanda in March 2012, creating a direct linkage between Rwanda and the Middle East.

President Kagame also attended an official luncheon hosted in his honor by the Emir of Qatar and visited the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development where he toured the Qatar National Library and other facilities.

About the Embassy

The Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda has responsibility of promoting relations of friendship and cooperation between the government and the peoples of Republic and the States of Qatar. The Embassy is also accredited to the State of Kuwait.
