Rwanda Delegation Led by Minister Murangwa Participates in AIIB Annual Meeting
A delegation from Rwanda led by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Hon. Yusuf Murangwa, participated in the 11th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), held in Doha from 28–29 September 2026.
Minister Murangwa took part in the Governors' Roundtable on strengthening strategic partnerships with member countries. As an AIIB member, Rwanda has accessed financing for digitalisation, energy access and private-sector development, and it aims to deepen this cooperation through multisectoral, large-scale, high-impact investments and blended financing for flagship projects.
He also met with AIIB President H.E. Zou Jiayi to discuss Rwanda's ongoing cooperation with the Bank and opportunities to deepen collaboration in sustainable infrastructure and climate-focused economic growth.
The delegation met with H.E. Ashish Khanna, Director General of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), to explore cooperation in solar energy, sustainable financing and renewable energy development.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the CEO of the Development Bank of Rwanda (BRD), Ms. Stella Rusine Nteziryayo, met with senior representatives of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and Qatar Development Bank (QDB) to discuss development finance, private-sector growth, access to finance, knowledge exchange and institutional cooperation.
Rwanda's participation reinforced its commitment to strengthening partnerships and mobilising financing for sustainable infrastructure and inclusive economic development.
