RWANDA DEFENCE FORCE OFFICERS GRADUATE FROM FROM DEFENCE STUDIES PROGRAMMES IN THE STATE OF QATAR
This Monday, the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies in the State of Qatar held a prestigious graduation ceremony for participants of the Professional Military Education programme in Joint Command and Staff Duties. The ceremony was held under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs.
Among the graduates were two senior officers of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), who successfully completed a ten-month programme of professional military education. In addition to their academic and military training, the officers also undertook Arabic language studies, further strengthening their ability to engage in multinational environments, enhance military diplomacy, and deepen professional cooperation with Arabic-speaking partner nations.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials of the Qatar Armed Forces, diplomatic representatives, and other distinguished guests. The Rwanda Defence Force was represented by the Defence Attaché of Rwanda to Qatar, Colonel Bernard R. Niyomugabo.
The successful completion of the programmes by the RDF officers reflects the strong and growing partnership between the Republic of Rwanda and the State of Qatar, particularly in the areas of military education, professional development, and defence cooperation.
