FERWACY President Visits Qatar to Explore Cooperation Opportunities in the Sports Sector

The President of the Rwanda Cycling Federation (FERWACY), Mr. Samson Ndayishimiye, has concluded his working visit to Qatar, aimed at strengthening sports cooperation between Rwanda and Qatar, particularly in cycling. 

During his visit, President Samson Ndayishimiye, alongside Ambassador Igor Marara, engaged with key institutions from Qatar’s sports and media sectors. They met representatives from the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation, Qatar Olympic Committee, Al Jazeera’s Digital Division, Aspetar, and Aspire Academy. During the meetings, they discussed advancing sports development in Rwanda, explored cooperation opportunities between Rwanda and Qatar, and media partnerships to enhance Rwanda’s global profile in sports, particularly in cycling as Rwanda prepares to host the UCI World Championship, the first to be held in Africa.

At the invitation of the Qatar Cyclists Center, FERWACY President Samson Ndayishimiye and Ambassador Igor Marara attended the 7th edition of the Al Adaid Desert Challenge at Sealine, which took place on 7th February 2025, celebrating sports and endurance. They witnessed the excitement of the race and had the honor of presenting awards to the winners.
