Ambassador Igor Marara presents credentials to represent Rwanda in Kuwait
Today, Mr. Igor Marara Kayinamura, the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the State of Qatar, presented his credentials to H.E. Mr. Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, as a non-resident Ambassador to the State of Kuwait.
Mr. Igor Marara has served as the Ambassador of the Republic of to the State of Qatar since April 2022, promoting bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in key areas. His new role as non-resident Ambassador to Kuwait presents an opportunity to extend Rwanda’s diplomatic engagement in the Gulf region.
Rwanda and Kuwait share cordial diplomatic relations, supported by various agreements and cooperative efforts.
In September 2019, Rwanda and Kuwait signed the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASAs). The agreement allows international commercial air transport services between both countries. BASA is crucial for establishing and managing international air routes, affecting airline operations, route networks, and global connectivity.
In the development sector, the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development has contributed significantly to Rwanda's infrastructure projects, including clean water initiatives aimed at improving rural livelihoods.
As Ambassador Igor Marara takes on his additional responsibilities as non-resident ambassador to Kuwait, both nations are ready to deepen their partnership in trade, infrastructure development, education, and other critical areas, reinforcing their shared commitment to sustainable progress.
