The memorandum seeks to facilitate content exchange, promote co-productions, and encourage capacity-building that reflects the evolving landscape of journalism and public service broadcasting. It outlines a framework for joint media projects, sharing best practices, and supporting professional development in news reporting, production, and digital media. The agreement also fosters a deeper understanding of journalistic standards and ethics while reinforcing media cooperation between Rwanda and Qatar to amplify accurate, balanced, and inclusive storytelling across the region.
Commenting on the partnership, Sandrine Isheja, Deputy Director General of RBA, said: “This partnership between RBA and the Al Jazeera Media Institute marks a significant milestone in our commitment to strengthening public service journalism in Rwanda. It is not only an opportunity to build the capacity of our media professionals, but also a gateway to reaching broader audiences and telling Rwanda’s stories — and Africa’s stories — in our own voice, with authenticity and pride.
