Passport

           RENEWAL OF NEW BIOMETRIC PASSPORT

•    Schedule your biometrics appointment at the website and provide the following:

- A confirmation email from the Directorate General Of immigration & Emigration for Biometrics Scanning appointment
- Rwanda National ID number
- irembo reference number (also known as A -number)

•    What to bring with you to your appointment:
- Rwanda National ID 
- Appointment confirmation
- A prepaid traceable, and self-addressed envelope for the embassy to return the document back to the applicant.

     APPLICANTS OF 16 YEARS AND ABOVE REQUIREMENTS

•    Submit a completed passport application form and pay a fee directly at IREMBO  https://irembo.gov.rw/home/citizen/all_services
•    The applicant will then be notified by Directorate General of immigration and Emigration (DGIE), though Email, to come at the embassy in Doha to give their biometrics 
•    Schedule your biometrics appointment at website and provide your:
- Rwanda National ID)
- Embassy appointment confirmation email.
- Consular Card (if Any)
- A prepaid, traceable and self-addressed envelope for the embassy to return the document back to the applicant.

Note: Minors Below 16 years old are not required to give biometrics.
Appointments With no irembo reference, confirmation and / or receipt will be denied

     MINOR UNDER 16 YEARS OLD APPLICATION

  PROCESS MINOR WITH LEGALLY MARRIED PARENTS

•    Application letter addressed to the DGIE signed by both parents 

•    One recently taken colored passport size photo with background
•    Minor’s birth certificate
•    Parents’ marriage certificate


                   MINOR WHO LOST BOTH PARENTS
•    Application letter addressed to the DGIE signed by the guardian(S)
•    One recently taken colored passport size photo with background
•    Copy of the legal guardian’s identity card(s)
•    Minor’s birth certificate
•    Death certificate for both parents
•    Copy of a legal guardianship
•    Payment of passport


                    MINOR WHO LOST ONE PARENT
•    Application letter addressed to the DGIE signed by the living parent
•    One recently taken colored passport size photo with background
•    Copy of the living parent’s identity card(s)
•    Minor’s birth certificate
•    Death certificate of the deceased parent
•    Payment of passport


                    MINOR WITH DIVORCED PARENT
•    Application letter addressed to the DGIE signed by both parents.
•    One recently taken colored passport size photo with background
•    Minor’s birth certificate
•    Copy of the identity cards of both parents
•    Copy of divorce ruling
•    Payment of passport


                   MINOR WHOSE PARENTS ARE NOT LEGALLY MARRIED
•    Application letter addressed to the DGIE signed by both parents.
•    One recently taken colored passport size photo with background
•    Minor’s birth certificate.
•    Copy of the identity cards of both parents
•    Celibacy certificate of the mother.
•    In case the minor stays with the father, he presents the certificate of recognition issued by sector authorities
•    Payment of passport

                    IMPORTANT NOTICES
•    The passports issued up to 27th June shall be valid until 27th June 2021
•    In case of loss or theft of passport, the applicant shall present the certificate issued by the competent authority.
•    If it is established that there was negligence on the person whose passport was lost, stolen or damaged, the application fee is increased by 50 %
•    In case of loss, theft or damage of passport, the applicant is subjected to interview for explanations on circumstances under which it happened.
